Thrill Land (formerly Apalon) is a simple online publishing venture created with independent researchers, curiosity seekers and casual web surfers in mind. It is a Web 1.0 company founded by Lenwood S. Sharpe in the wake of the dot-com bubble collapse, on August 4, 2002. Thrill Land largely operates under four main domains: ThrillLand.com, Lumberwoods.org, WeirdHalloween.com and ScurvyDevils.com.
Thrill Land was born out of a time when the Internet was still dominated by hobbyists, people sharing the things they loved without any further thought or incentive. Thrill Land seeks to provide a simple means with which to entertain and uplift others. While it has gone through multiple transformations since its inception, Thrill Land has always remained steadfast in its determination. Minimally funded and staffed, Thrill Land is apart from the sphere of outside interests. In fact, Thrill Land has replaced all advertising on its sites with selected philosophies, proverbs, quotes, sayings, etc. Today, the old Internet is all but extinct. As it proceeds to be dominated by commercial interests and social influencers, the importance of Thrill Land as a continuing piece of what the Internet once was likewise grows as well. i n f o @ t h r i l l l a n d . c o m |
