NEW PULP HORROR ADVENTURE
x

[ October 13, 2024 ]

In continuation of Thrill Land's venture into the genre of short horror comes a new tale with which to disturb readers of the strange and sinister. “Ordeal on the Ridge” is a chilling story about a hiker who inadvertently ends up crossing paths with a mysterious and terrifying figure of folklore in the wooded mountain passes of eastern Kentucky. Blending oral tradition with fiction, the short is a continuation to Thrill Land's earlier entries such as “The Faceless Horror from Wickham Corner” or “Gremlin in the Gulf” that features preexisting figures from American myth and legend.

Thrill Land's ever expanding horror mythos has already introduced the likes Dracula, the Headless Horseman, Frankenstein, the Wolf-Man, along aside other iconic and marketable characters. Like its predecessors, “Ordeal on the Ridge” is written in the first person, akin to a campfire story, lending it an air of fantastic realism in a genre permeated by a tone of pure fantasy. This is done with the hopes that this new line of connected horror shorts will further expand Thrill Land's audience with a fresh take that melds the icons and atmosphere of classic horror with the realism of a story akin to those passed from one neighbor to another. So, be sure to read— “Ordeal on the Ridge” .
